GET TO KNOW

Meet Keren

Your Storyteller of Love

A little about me

At the heart of everything I do is my family.

I was born in Israel and moved to Australia in 1980. Raised in a loving Jewish household, I grew up with the core values of Judaism: repairing the world (Tikkun Olam), seeking justice (Tzedek), upholding human dignity (Kavod HaBriyot), and practicing charity (Tzedakah).

I met my incredible husband in 1997, and together we’ve raised three beautiful boys who are my absolute world. Life at home is full, a little chaotic at times, and always filled with love — especially with our gorgeous dog Honey keeping us all on our toes.

I’m also so lucky to have a close relationship with my parents and father-in-law, who have always been a strong part of my life. Family, to me, is everything — it’s where my values come from and what inspires the way I show up for my couples.

Outside of ceremonies, I’m someone who genuinely loves people. I love connecting, socialising, and creating meaningful relationships. I’m happiest when I’m bringing people together, whether that’s through my work or in everyday life.

I’m also passionate about giving back to my community and spending time volunteering — it’s something that keeps me grounded and connected to what really matters.

And when I’m not working, you’ll usually find me enjoying the simple (and not-so-simple!) pleasures of life — good food, great company, exploring new places, and visiting wineries whenever I get the chance.

Why did I become a celebrant

I’ve always been an energetic, friendly, warm and genuine person — someone who truly loves connecting with others.
For me, ceremonies are so much more than just a moment in time. They are the threads that bind generations, heritage and heart. They honour not only your love story, but also the traditions, resilience and values that shape who you are.
Being a Celebrant allows me to do what I love most — share your story.
I love Love.

It perfectly complements my outgoing, positive nature and my deep passion for people. It brings together everything that matters most to me: love, family and connection. There is something incredibly special about helping couples create a ceremony that reflects who they are and supporting them as they begin a lifelong journey of love and fulfilment. Being part of that is truly a privilege.
My own journey to marriage is actually what inspired me to become a Celebrant.
When my husband and I were engaged, we faced challenges getting married in a traditional way because we come from different faiths. As a Jewish woman marrying a non-Jewish man, I couldn’t be married by a Rabbi.

But it was so important to us to honour the traditions that meant so much to me — being married under a Chuppah, breaking the glass, and reciting the Seven Blessings.
That experience stayed with me.
It’s what fuels my passion today — helping couples who may be navigating similar challenges and creating ceremonies that beautifully blend cultural and religious elements into one meaningful celebration.
Since 2009, I’ve had the absolute honour of performing hundreds of wedding ceremonies, naming days and commitment ceremonies — each one unique, each one deeply special.

Why choose Keren?

I truly believe your wedding ceremony should feel like you — not something pulled from a template.

To me, a wedding is like a blank canvas. There are a few legal words that need to be said… and everything else is a beautiful opportunity to create something deeply personal, meaningful and completely unique to your story.

I don’t “slot names into a script.”
I take the time to get to know you, and then I write your ceremony from scratch — something that reflects who you are, what you value, and the journey that brought you together.

My ceremonies are engaging, inclusive, warm and full of heart — with just the right balance of love, fun and authenticity. Never boring, always meaningful.

I also specialise in incorporating cultural and traditional elements that are important to you and your families. Whether it’s Jewish, Hindu, Sri Lankan, Indian, Vietnamese traditions — or a blend of many — I’ll help you honour them in a way that feels seamless and genuine.

What to expect when working with me:

First things first — I love to meet in person (over a wine or coffee!) to see if we’re a good fit. Or on zoom if that works better for the two of you. That connection is so important.

From there, we work together. This is a collaboration.

Every couple I meet is completely unique, and by asking the right questions and really getting to know you, I’m able to create a ceremony that feels personal, relaxed, warm and truly yours.

Throughout the whole process, you can expect me to be:

  • Available whenever you need guidance or reassurance
  • Positive and easy to work with
  • Supportive every step of the way
  • Genuinely invested in your experience

I bring care, love and attention to every detail — because your ceremony deserves nothing less.

I would absolutely love the opportunity to meet you, hear your story, and be part of your special day.
